How to Set-up freeview DTH Channels
This guide assumes that you have already got a DVB-S satellite tuner card installed, and have worked through the DVB-S card set-up guide.
- Initial freeview Channel Scan - for new installs
- Update Existing freeview Channels
- Troubleshooting
Initial freeview Channel Scan
You need to follow this part of the guide if you have never loaded any freeview channels onto myPVR.
The set-up tool should already be running as you will have been following our DVB-S Card set-up guide
Step 1 Channel Editor
Select the channel editor option, and you should get the screen to the right, and then select the Video Source of “myPVR NZ DTH“.
If no channels have been loaded the channel list should be empty.
In order to load additional channels you need to click on the “Channel Scanner” button.
Step 2 Channel Scanner
You need to make sure that the following Channel Scanner options are correctly defined, as shown in the image to the right.
- Video Source: ? “myPVR NZ DTH“
- Capture Card: ? [DVB:0]
- Scan Type: ? Full Scan (Tuned)
Because freeview use a number of satellite transponders to provide their services you will have to run several channel scans.
Freeview transponders
Select transponder values from the table bellow and click on the Next button to start the channel scan, as shown to the right.

Troubleshooting
Channel Scan Fails
You need to check the following values are correct
- DiSEqC LNB LO
- You are scanning the correct transponder
Freeview support tools fail to install
Make sure that your internet connection is active.
Some freeview channels are missing EPG data
Not all of the new freeview channels currently have EPG data feeds. The following channels should have feeds, but other channels might only have occasional data.
- TV One
- TV 2
- TV 3
- C4
- Maori TV
Missing some freeview channels
Check that the channels are listed on freeview’s website first. Then perform a channel scan. If they are still missing then contact OpenMedia support.
I have Sky TV and want all of the freeview channels
Sky made the switch to HPol on the 31st July 2007. This means all myPVR customers with a freeview tuner should now get all of the freeview channels. Should this not be the case please contact myPVR support
Cannot scan freeview transponders
This might happen if the LNB on your dish is aligned wrong. If it has worked in the past but now fails there is a chance it has moved slightly in bad weather.
Why Can’t I get Prime
At present Prime TV isn’t part of freeview.
