Rear I/O Panel and Cable Connections

Main I/O Panel

For normal operation you need to use two of the USB ports for the wireless remote control, and wireless mouse/keyboard units. We advise customers against using the PS2 Mouse and Keyboard ports as these do not support HotPlug. If you have problems with the remote control unit then make sure it is correctly plugged in before powering on your unit.

If your audio amplifier or TV only supports standard stereo audio then you should use the green 3.5mm stereo audio jack, for which you will usually require an adaptor cable. We advise all customers to use the Ethernet socket to plug their myPVR into their broadband connection where possible. Should you wish to use a wireless Ethernet adaptor please contact OpenMedia to enquire about offically supported models. To avoid interference with the video capture card we advise customers to use a USB based wireless solution if they are unable to use standard Ethernet.

If you are connecting your myPVR to a standard TV you will usually use either the Composite or SVideo out sockets. Should you be using a projector, LCD or Plasma TV we advise you to use either the VGA or DVI connections shown above on the main I/O pane.lIf you are using an amplifier that supports digital audio then we advise you to use either of the Coax, or Optical digital audio outputs, rather than the standard stereo output shown on the main I/O panel. If you are changing from analogue to digital audio please contact OpenMedia to make sure you have the most uptodate audio profile installed. You will need to connect a standard TV Aerial fly lead to the input shown on the video capture diagram. Note that the inputs for Tuner 2 are only present if you have the dual tuner model. You can use the composite and SVideo inputs to connect devices such as you VCR or Sky Decoder.
