myPVR Support

There are a number of additional hot keys for the Electronic Program Guide that are very useful for regular use. One issue when using myPVR with a remote control is there are no equivalent keys for PgUp / PgDn / Home / End. These are very useful as shown in the keyboard map below. Thankfully the MythTV team have mapped alternative accelerator keys which are ideal for remote control use.

If you mouse over the remote control number pad layout to the left you should get feedback on some of these additional hot key mappings. Otherwise take a look at the table below.

Before you try and use these hot keys you need to make sure that the “Allow channel jumping in guide” option is disabled. This can be performed as follows. Go to the main myPVR menu by pressing ether

• the green button on the remote control, or
• Ctrl+Alt+Enter on the keyboard.

Then select the following menu path

• Utilities/Setup →
• Setup →
• TV Settings →
• Program Guide →
  • Next →
    • Disable “Allow channel jumping in guide”
  • Finish →

Keyboard	Remote Key	Action
Home	1	Jump the epg display ahead by one day
End	7	Jump the epg display back by one day
Page Up	3	move the channel list up by a page
Page Down	9	move the channel list down by a page
<		Move the highlight left by one page
>		Move the highlight right by one page
I	i	Bring up more information about a show, and allow you to schedule a recording.
Space/Enter	Enter	Allow you resolve conflicts or change overrides. If the program is not already scheduled to record, it will instead act like pressing ‘I’.
M	DVD Menu	When on a channel will change to that channel
ESC or C	←	Exit the EPG
R		Change the current item from Recording/Not-Recording. Successive key presses cycle through the scheduled recording type list.
?		Mark/unmark the current channel as a “favourite”
/ or 4	4	Toggle the guide listing between all channels and filtered “favourites”
6	6	Search for program by title
